Big Game Football Party

It’s time for the NFL Championship game! Kick off the new year with an early outdoor event around the Big Game. Offer tailgate type food paired with yard games, trivia, best TV ad voting, or life-sized cut-outs of team members or mascots for fun photo opportunities. Whether your regional team is in the Big Game or not, your tenants are likely pull for the teams who are playing.

Just the Basics

Here are a few easy suggestions for planning your Big Game Football Party event to get you started:
  • Create Photo Ops. For reasonable costs, you can buy large backdrops and cardboard cut-outs to create easy options for tenants to see themselves in the action and post on social media. Encourage social media posts! Consider giveaways or a trip to a prize wheel for posting to sites of your choice. Many purchased materials can be reused year to year if you have storage space.
  • Set up themed yard games. Encourage some friendly competition while tenants wait for their lunch orders! Cornhole, themed “pin the tail on the donkey,” or bean bag toss are all available and simple to have available for some added fun.
  • Schedule a Food Truck to serve lunch – tailgate type food is best in this case (burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, wings). Add a concession-type vendor to add more fun. If your budget allows, provide free food or discounts. If the budget doesn’t allow for rewards, the tenants will still appreciate being able to buy their own lunch while having fun on-site.
    • We can help you determine a budget based on activities at your other events if needed. Most trucks will work on a maximum so you can give them your budget number and they’ll stop serving free food once that’s reached.
    • Food Truck Discount Examples: Most food trucks will work with you to create a package to meet your budget. Ideas for how you might incorporate free tenant food include giving the first 20 people in costume free lunch, paying for the first $500 spent at the truck, or paying for an appetizer for anyone in costume up to $250.
