Keeping life caffeinated is a family biz
Crazy Beans Coffee food truck has been bringing caffeine to the Triangle since 2020. Whether the event is large or small Kerbie & her team aim to satisfy and make a connection.
From the Truck
Hi, I'm Kerbie! The love for coffee started back in the 1990's. When I was little, my dad and I had special breakfast dates very often which usually consisted of me secretly sipping on his coffee. A couple years later our daddy-daughter dates moved to a café close to home where we would do our homework/work together. He would buy me a sweet coffee and I would watch the baristas in awe. I loved everything about coffee shops; the social, the chatter, the drinks, the atmosphere. I had to be a part of it! At 15, in San Jose, California, I started my barista career, which followed me through highschool, a small time at college, marriage to my highschool sweetheart Josh, and birth of our three beautiful kids. I spent those 10 years as a barista, and head barista trainer and I loved every minute. Knowing all of your customer's name and drink by heart, anticipating a special treat someone might need, or just connecting with a customer when they were having a rough day. It wasn't just coffee, but the common ground between strangers and friends. Bittersweet, it was time to move on. In 2016, my husband Josh and I decided I would stay home and homeschool our oldest daughter, and take care of our younger two kids. (which also included our move to North Carolina) Still at home I loved making good coffee. Over some time and experimentation, I perfected quite delicious drink recipes, and would make them for family and friends whenever possible. Wherever we went, a tray of coffees would accompany. The joke: "crazy beans coffee delivery" began! Officially in 2020, my mom Debbie and best friend Jeannie joined me and we began catering to events and parties with my espresso bar set-up. Since, it has blossomed into a fun, bubbling, business that fits into so many needs in the community. We have served quite a few special events from a few thousand attendee Viking Festival, to a smaller personal Ladies Christmas Tea, to a barn full of horses and students. Currently, we are serving wherever we can to whoever needs us! I am also still blessed to stay home and homeschool all three of our kids-now. Yikes! Crazy Beans Coffee's family mission is to bring people together and connect over a good cup of coffee. We strive for everyone's beverage to be perfect. If we can help brighten someone's day by bringing their favorite drink, then we've done our job! Love you all! Stay caffeinated!
