How To: Talk with Companies for Booking: Part 2

Now that we’ve discussed how property managers need to talk with companies for booking, let's talk about food trucks! If you missed the property managers booking article, you can find that here.

There are many things that go into booking an event as a food truck. As lovely as it would be to show up, open your window, and serve, there are many items that a property manager or event coordinator will request prior to having you serve at their event. We’re certified Event Coordinators here at MOBLZ, and we know all the ins and outs of what you’ll need to go into your next event.

First things first: have your basic menu ready. Event coordinators might be looking for a certain type of cuisine to have at their event. They’ll want to know what you serve and if it meets their expectations for their event. With this in mind, it’ll also be important to note any dietary restrictions that you’re able to service. Gluten free and vegetarian options specifically are very important to event coordinators and property managers who service large scale events.

When booking events, there will also be necessary documents to have on hand, such as your sanitation score and permits. With booking large-scale events, there's often a level of criteria to be met. Property managers will want to ensure that they’re providing top quality food to their tenants. In addition to your sanitation score, property managers will also want to ensure that all of your permits and insurance information is up to date. Having all of this information handy will make it easier to communicate with property managers, and secure events.

Bonus tips: some bonus information to have on hand is whether or not you have a quiet generator, and if you cater. A quiet generator in your food truck may be more appealing to property managers due to its low feedback and quiet noise. When property managers aren't having food trucks out, they often have lunch catered. Offering catering may incentivize property managers to use you again for lunches in the future, even if you’re not using your food truck!
