Women’s Entrepreneurship Day
We celebrate Women’s Entrepreneurship Day annually on November 19th. This is a day set aside to celebrate female business owners and to also encourage more women to start a new business. Since the recognition day began back in 2013, its popularity has grown and is now celebrated internationally by the United Nations. Wendy Diamond, who was volunteering to help impoverished women in Honduras, created the WEDO (Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization) foundation to empower women and girls to become active participants in the economy. By creating a network of women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to create business startups, drive economic expansion, and enhance their communities, she created so much more!
Leading up to this year’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we wanted to take a few minutes to recognize some of our local female-owned mobile vendors. Please make a point to support your locally-owned women’s businesses this Friday to support female entrepreneurism.
