Best Practices for Food Truck Websites

Ali Knowles

Most businesses are created to make money while making the lives of consumers better. As event coordinators that work frequently with food trucks, we’ve seen a number of unique features that food trucks have implemented into their websites to make the lives of consumers easier. Today, we’re breaking them down so that your website can service your customers better.

1. Menu page. The importance of a menu page cannot be stressed enough. When companies are looking to book your truck for an event, they’ll be specifically looking for what type of cuisine you offer. Menus are also a great way to allow customers to know what they want before they get to your window to order. The menu page should list every item that you serve, along with their prices.

2. Appetizing photos. A picture is worth a thousand words, and your photos can help you sell or can work against you. You don’t need to show every item, but having great looking pictures that make your consumers’ mouth water will help increase your sales.

3. Dates of upcoming services. If you get to a point where you’ve grown a following of people who want to eat at your truck, you’ll want to always keep your service locations updated so that your loyal followers will always know where you’ll be next! Most trucks choose to post this to their social media, but websites are a great place for this to exist as well.

4. Contact info. If someone randomly stumbles across your site, you’ll always want them to have easy access to contacting you for a potential upcoming event. We cannot stress this enough: email, social, and primary phone numbers should all be listed on your site.
